If I recall correctly “The Poker Room” which has been renamed “Best Bet” opened in 2004. Club regent casino menu. Back then it was strictly low limit poker. No-limit was not in place and the place was always empty. When they opened up to $100 max buy-in No limit poker the place blew up, rightfully so. Stakes at the Jax poker Room.

The poker room in Jacksonville off US1 on Racetrack Road features a Bad Beat Jackpot. The largest hit was ~$170K. It’s actually the poker room I play at regularly. In general the Bad Beat doesn’t hit very often because the poker room is not very crowded. They seed the jackpot with $5,000 and $1 is taken from every pot for the Bad Beat Progressive Jackpot.
BBJ Requirements
* AAAJJ beat by Quads or better.
* No talking about the BBJ or the dealers might rat you out.
* Sitting at a BBJ table (tournaments do not count).
* Bot hole cards must be used.
Review of Jax PokerRoom
It’s really on the border of St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra and Jacksonville but I just call it the beachside poker room. This is my second favorite pokerroom in Florida. It’s low key, but there are still days (like on Tuesday or Saturday) where the place gets crowded.

Stakes at the Jax poker Room
The most you can buy in for at any of the tables is $100. It doesn’t matter if you’re playing $2/2 or $5/$10. It’s Florida law and works this way everywhere. The most popular game is still NL poker with Limit being second popular. Other games include Seven Card Stud and Omaha. They used to have Crazy Pineapple but not any longer. The tournaments are also popular but not recommended due to the ridiculous blind structure.
Food Review
Bestbet Jacksonville Poker Room
Try the sushi. I was skeptical at first. Sushi at a pokerroom, come on! It’s actually very good, some of the best I’ve had. Stay away from the other food, it’s not very good. They’ve got some attractive cocktail waitresses and fast dealers so tip accordingly!
Is it worth playing here?
It can reach six figures but it takes a long time every since they opened a sister pokerroom in OrangePark. Most players tend to play at Orange park, which is about 20 minutes away.
It’s not that the Jax Poker Room isn’t a good place to play, it just lacks players at certain times.
The best time to play is on Tuesday, when Orange park pokerroom is closed. Everyone flocks from Orange Park to play at the Jacksonville / St. Augustine cardroom. They do update the jackpot amount on a daily basis at www.jaxpokerroom.com under “St Johns”.
